Indonesia sendiri dinilai memiliki potensi energi panas bumi yang besar mencapai 40 persen cadangan panas bumi dunia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Girijantoro di Pandeglang, Banten, Selasa (10\/3) mengatakan jika potensi panas bumi di Pandeglang berada di kawasan Gunung Karang. Apabila panas bumi tersebut dapat dikelola, perkiraan energi listrik yang dihasilkan bisa mencapai 225 mega watt (MW). Pada saat ini potensi panas bumi yang ada sedang dilakukan penelitian (eksplorasi) oleh PT Sintesa Banten Geothermal (SBG).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">PT SBG ditetapkan sebagai pemenang tender ekspolorasi dan pengelolaan panas bumi yang dilaksanakan Dinas Pertembangan dan Energi Provinsi Banten.
