Berdasarkan penelitian Forestry and Forest Product Research Institute, pohon sawit mampu menyerap CO2 sebanyak 25 ton per hektare per tahun.<\/p>\n<p>Dari data Statistik Perkebunan Unggulan Nasional 2020-2022, luas lahan sawit Indonesia adalah 14,38 juta hektare. Dengan kemampuan menyerap karbon dioksida (CO2) sebesar 64,5 ton per hektar, maka sawit terhitung mampu menyerap 927,5 juta ton CO2 pada 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Menurut Kementerian ESDM, kebijakan bauran energi berupa biodiesel 30 persen (B30) terbukti mampu menurunkan emisi karbon dari penggunaan bahan bakar solar sekitar 50 persen hingga 60 persen.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dibandingkan bahan bakar lain, kita ini paling baik, turunkan emisi 62 persen dibandingkan minyak diesel (fosil). Sekarang B35 sudah ada dan banyak perusahaan (produsen) sudah berdiri di Jawa, Kalimantan, termasuk Sulawesi,&#8221; kata Dadan &#8211; Direktur Jenderal Energi Baru Terbarukan dan Konservasi Energi, Kementerian ESDM, secara daring, Rabu (24\/5\/2023).<\/p>\n<p>Berdasarkan penelitian Forestry and Forest Product Research Institute, pohon sawit mampu menyerap CO2 sebanyak 25 ton per hektare per tahun dibandingkan pohon lain yang hanya 6 ton per hektare per tahun.<\/p>\n<p>Bila mengacu pada luasan lahan sawit Indonesia sebesar 14,38 juta hektare maka setidaknya ada 927,5 juta ton CO2 yang mampu diserap pohon sawit.<\/p>\n<p>Dadan menambahkan, pemerintah kini juga terus mendorong pengembangan pembangkit listrik berbasis sawit sebagai energi baru terbarukan. Ia mencatat potensi sawit sebagai bahan baku produksi listrik mencapai 28.148 megawatt (MW). Adapun saat ini total kapasitas pembangkit listrik yang sudah menggunakan sawit sudah mencapai 874,57 MW.<\/p>\n<p>Sawit termasuk tanaman dengan tingkat produktivitas yang tinggi dengan kemampuan serapan CO2 sawit tergolong lebih tinggi ketimbang tanaman lainnya.
